In the Lost & Found

Reading and discovering books, new and old.

About Me

I’m Ali (she/her), a Chicana (Mexican-American) 24-year-old Southern Californian currently dwelling in Fabulous Las Vegas.

I like reading from any genre, writing, Animal Crossing, going to concerts (pre-COVID), using too many parentheses, driving ’round until I get lost and finding my way back.

In the Lost and Found will feature posts on what I’ve been reading, what I’m up to in life, my favorite things, and more. I look forward to figuring it out along the way.

Some of My Favorite Things

Books: Purple Hibiscus, East of Eden, Gods of Jade and Shadow, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Phantom of the Opera, Forbidden (by my queen Beverly Jenkins), Beloved, Pride and Prejudice, Call Me by Your Name, Dig. , Foolish Hearts, Speak, Aristotle & Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, White Oleander, Rain of Gold, Strange the Dreamer

T.V. Shows: My Mad Fat Diary, Ugly Betty, ER, Roswell, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Derry Girls, PEN15, Friday Night Lights, Pushing Daisies, Doctor Who (9 is still my favorite…then 10)

Movies: Me Without You, The Wedding Date, East of Eden, The Crow, Jennifer’s Body, Little Women (the 2019 version), Pride and Prejudice (the Keira Knightley version),The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, anything and everything Ghibli

Musicians & Bands: I won’t even go here because there are too many, but my blog name is an Elliott Smith song.

My reading slump (and everything slump tbh) has hi My reading slump (and everything slump tbh) has hit me hard this month! Hopefully spending so much time on this month's journal spread will give me the push I need to get back into the groove of things.
Finished what will probably be my last classic of Finished what will probably be my last classic of 2020. I love when a book renews my love of reading and Phantom of the Opera did just that! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

#sowecanglow by Leesa Cross-Smith 💖 I haven't decided how I feel about it yet, but it's really reminding me how magical I and all of my friends were as teenagers, and now as adults. All the magic girl vibes! I was inspired by the story Girlheart Cake with Glitter Frosting to grab some of the magical femme things I could find in my apartment. I totally did cry reading it- just a list of music, movies, artists, and a bunch of other stuff that I ABSORBED into my personality as an adolescent. Who knew a three-page list of things could be so relatable?! 💫
